What is an ASIC?

ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit)

Design methodology utilizing new (or) existing IP and standard cells in highly automated flows for placement and routing which are customized for a particular use/application.

Advantages:-

  1. Require less manual optimization
  2. Shortens the design cycle
