Why we are moving towards lower-nodes?

The motivation for technology scaling is the repercussions of the demand for smaller and portable devices which can occupy less area, consumes lesser power and is cheaper in cost.

To foster Moore’s law and keeping the trend alive, lot of research and development is being done to make the transistor size smaller and further boosting the invention of new device architectures.
