What is an ASSP?

ASSP (Application-Specific Standard Parts)

Just like ASIC, ASSP’s have the same design and implementation flow, the only difference being it’s a more of a general-purposed device intended to be used by various design houses in multiple systems.

Whereas ASIC are special-purpose devices designed to be used by a single company for a specific system.
